About Lisa_Faure'
I graduated from Auburn University with a major in Exercise Physiology and minor in Nutrition. While I was attedning Auburn, I ran track and had an injury that no one could seem to fix. I was referred to a neuromuscular therapist who got be back running and healthy. This began my fascination with the soft tissue and the balance of the nervous system. I became certified in St. John's Neuromuscular Therapy in 1988. I coached at University of Alabama Birmingham and began working on the track team and many of the athletes there. I went to massage school in Seattle  and have been working on and off through the years while also raising my 3 sons.  I am currently finishing up my certification in Medical Massage.
Committed to helping people get out of pain
Neuromuscular Therapy is a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system.  Therapy examines 5 factors that may create or intensify pain patterns.  These 5 factors are:
     1. Ischemia -          lack of blood supply to soft tissues
     2. Trigger Points - these occur when nerves fire impulses at
rapid speed into an area other than which
                                     has been traumatized.
     3.  Nerve Compression/Entrapment - is pressure on a nerve
by bone, cartilage or soft tissue
     4.  Postural Distortion
     5.  Nutrition

During your session I incorporate several approaches of therapy, including but not limited to,  Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Stretching Procedures.

What are the benefits of Neuromuscular and Medical Massage?

     1. Releases tight muscles which cause ischemia
     2. Helps relieve nerve compression/entrapment
     3. Deactivates trigger points
     4. Decreases pain and inflammation
     5. Improves Circulation
     6. Calms nervous system
     7. Increases range of motion
     8. Improves Posture
